Swappable Battery Network for Two- and Three-Wheelers
Submitted by INDDN Team · 3 months ago
A standardized, swappable EV battery format with kiosks at existing petrol pumps and kirana stores, so a rider swaps a depleted pack for a charged one in under two minutes instead of waiting hours to charge. Two- and three-wheelers are over 80% of India's vehicle fleet, and the same kiosk model travels well to Southeast Asia and Africa where the vehicle mix looks similar.

Sun Mobility and Battery Smart already do parts of this in a few cities - the kirana store distribution angle is the genuinely new bit.

Standardizing the battery form factor across manufacturers is going to be the hard part. Everyone wants their own.

Would this extend to e-rickshaws or just two-wheelers to start?
